Christmas Sugar Cookies
Who doesn't love cookies? And what are better than Christmas-themed sugar cookies! Learn how to make these classic cookies for the holiday season.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of softened butter
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp of vanilla extract
5 cups of all-purpose flour
2 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp salt
Procedure:
1. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix. Slowly,
2. add the flour, the baking, and salt until a dough is formed.
3. Chill the dough in the fridge for about at least 2 hours. (overnight works as well)
4. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, roll out your dough to about 1/2 inch thick, cut out shapes with Christmas cookie cutters, and place them on an un-greased cookie sheet and place into the heated oven.
5. Cook cookies for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and cool completely.

3 egg whites
1 tsp of vanilla extract
4 cups of confectioners' sugar
Procedure:
1. Mix the egg whites and vanilla extract with an electric mixture until it becomes frothy (a white color with many bubbles)
2. Add the sugar on low speed until the mixture becomes shiny and gradually increase the speed until stiff and glossy peaks form. This should take about 5-7 minutes
3. Pipe on the icing to the cooled cookies and decorate as desired.
