DIY Bath Bombs!
The fizzing in the tub and the aroma filling up the bathroom only means one thing. You're using a bath bomb! I adore bath bombs and love using them and after receiving some for Christmas, I've been wanting to DIY some and apparently, according to my Instagram: @Sanyanoorani, some of you do as well. This DIY is inspired by A Beautiful Mess, so I hope you enjoy!
To create this bath bomb, you will need:
8 Tbsp/4 oz. of Baking Soda
4 Tbsp/2 oz. of Corn Starch
4 Tbsp/2 oz. of Citric Acid
4 Tbsp/2 oz. of Epsom Salt
1-1 1/2 tsp of water
1 tsp of essential oil (Orange and Lavender are my favorites)
1 1/4 tsp of oil (I used Coconut Oil and melting it before I added it)
1-2 drops of food coloring
Process:
1) Mix the first four ingredients shown above in a separate bowl to remove any clumps and the last four ingredients in a smaller bowl.
2) Pour the liquid into the dry slowly making sure it doesn't fizz up. If it does then try adding the liquid in slower.
3) Use your hands to form an oval shape. If the mixture is too loose and won't form then add a little more water.
4) Fill the molds with the mixture until it's a bit overflowed. Press the two sides of the mold together and very carefully remove one side of the mold.
5) Place the uncovered side facing up on a tray for the bath bomb to dry out. This will take at least 12 minutes or so.
6) Once dried out, flip the bomb over, uncovering the opposite side (Both sides should be uncovered now) and allowing that side to dry out as well. - If the bomb cracks or falls apart, you can press them with the mold together again or you can start over and re-add them into the mold.
7) Once out of the mold completely, allow the bath bombs to sit for at least 8 hours - overnight for best results.
8) Wrap in a clear plastic wrap and you're free to gift them and use them whenever.
Using Bath Bombs are so relaxing and they are so fun to make. I highly recommend this DIY because it's definitely in my top 5 faves! XOXO - Sanya
